But mainly all I remember is the happiness you brought with you. You may remember that by the time you arrived at our caravan at 1. January I was exhausted, having only slep for about two hours in the previous two days, terrified that when he needed me I would be asleep.

I had experienced red tape to its extreme that day with a pen pusher who was so concerned about health and safety that she forgot we were real people. You walked in and I remember breaking down in front of you. I poured my heart oiut and you poured the tea. I told you everything I couldn't tell Steve, but I know he heard me and that gave us both peace. You brought me a comfort that I simply cannot put into words.

You helped my children laugh that night, you helped them spend time with their dad with happy memories. You seemed to have a peaceful presence and I remember being able to sleep, albeit, just for a few hours, without worrying. You even managed to calm my mad dog and puppy.

Somehow you being there kept my husband with us until sunrise, until we could hear the sea and until I was with him, which was all we ever wanted. I cannot being, nor will I ever be able to truly thank you for that night, but I can tell you that we will never forget you.

I sometimes see you as an angel who slipped out as quietly as she came in. An angel who was there with us only when she was needed, to help a family at breaking point, accept and rejoice in Steve's life. An angel who managed to reconnect a family before it was too late.

The Bible says: 'Behold I send you an angel to guard you on the way and bring you to the place I have prepared.'May god bless you and continue to give you the strength and compassion that you have shown to my family. Humbly yours,Louise Manthorpe and Millie, Joe, Zack and Bob and most of all Steve 'It wasn’t chaos and I wasn’t pulling my hair out. It was peaceful.'My kids always remember the last of everything and if it hadn’t been – if it had been negative, that is how they would have remembered it.'Now the family are doing their best to move on without Steve, and Louise said that finding Pam again so say thank you has been a huge help. They take a while to warm up with anybody, especially my son, but she just did it – she fixed everybody that night.'We were at breaking point and she held it together – she held us together.'.
